need a good online game

I used to play a lot of online games. Battlefield games, Earth and Beyond, and then WoW and GW killed it for me. I haven't really played anything online for years. I'm looking for preferrably an mmo or maybe just a shooter that's really good. The thing about WoW was that it was so based around getting equipment it completely killed the game for me, and GW using instances was no fun. So are there any mediocre reviewedmmo's that I'm missing out on? I want something that is oriented around gameplay and guild interaction as opposed to grinding and getting the best equipment, I want to be able to not care about equipment while still being able to have the same experience as everyone else. My viewpoint is that I should be able to have as much as fun at a game as someone who spends 10 or 1 hour a day playing a game. Games like UT aren't fun to me because they are too arcade style and Counter strike is way too competitive as opposed to just having fun. That's why I liked the original Battlefield games. So help me out here.need a good online game
