Anyone played Empire at War?

Hey people, I'm sorta new to the PC gaming scene and I haven't got the best computer, however I found out my computer will be able to play Star Wars: Empire at War and me being a big Star Wars nut and all wants to buy it. So I came here for a question, has anyone got or has played Empire at War and if you have, what do you think? This will beonly myfourth RTS that I have owned, the others being Galactic Battlegrounds, AoE and C%26C. Thanks for reading.Anyone played Empire at War?
I personally think its a great RTS game in SPACE but the ground combat is boring as hell but its still a very good game.Anyone played Empire at War?
Empire At War is actually a pretty good RTS. You can controll land and space battles using various Star Wars characters and ships, online matches, a downloadable map editor from their website...you'll get a lot of mileage from it. Just make sure that when you buy it, try to look for the version with the Forces of Corruption expansion pack included as well. It'll save you a few bucks.
Empire at War is a great game. I'm also a Star Wars nut so you'll probably like. Just don't get the expansion pack for it cause it's really bad.
Great game, not too difficult so for a somewhat-new-to-RTSer, it will be just fine. Like Anthony9000 said, space is great, ground is ''meh.''
It's one of the best RTS games for Star Wars fans. Worth the purchase if you can get the expansion with it as well.
Ive plaeyed it and it was fun till it lasted.SPace is fun ground well not as fun aloso not many games online these days
I think it's way better than C%26C, Galactic Battlegrounds, and maybe the later AoE games, and is more in league with Rome : Total War-like games. It's got a great map to manage individual planets and you can have battles on the planet and in space above the planet with lots of units and structures from the Star Wars galaxy. BUY IT!
Empire at War is a dumbed down RTS.. It is no where near as challenging or fun as many others out there.. I completely disagree with the people who are saying the game is spectacular... For one, space is 2d meaning hardly any strategy in movements.. Secondly ground combat is GOD awful, I MEAN ITS REALLY REALLY AWFUL.. Its the kind of chore that there are mods made for the game to make auto decide more in the players favor because they do not want to take it.. Space combat has been out done by a game 3 years older, Homeworld 2, and the person usually with the largest force wins.. Its graphics are subpar and homeworld 2 yet agian beats it out.. Campaign screen is meh at best, there are far better games out there.. In the end if your a starwars fanatic play it I guess.. But if your into RTS's I can name you DOZENS that are far superior to it.
I really liked Empire at War as well as Battlegrounds. I actually think Battlegrounds might be a better RTS because it has amazing ground combat, and EaW is kind of lacking. But the space aspect is really cool and I enjoyed being able to use the special ablities of Darth Vader, Han, etc.
