I'm asking because I have around 300$ to spend, and I was thinking of doing this:Selling my 8800GTS (lets assume I get 200$)I now have 500$ to spendI would buy 2 256MB 8800GT's and SLI them. Thats around 300$ with tax and everything. With my 200$ left I would upgrade my E4400 Processor and get an E6600 (I would be short around 40$, but that isnt a problem) Would those 2 8800GT's work better than 2 320MB 8800GT'S? How Much Would I Get If I Sold My 8800GTS 320 MB?

Check eBay.How Much Would I Get If I Sold My 8800GTS 320 MB?
ok but then you would have waaayy weaker graphics. on 8800gts is way better than an sli'd 8600gt. wayy better.
never mindi thought i read 8600 disregard that
yeah those two 8800gt's would be better than your 8800gts, sorry bout that
I saw it for about $180 on Ebay. I would wait until the 8800GT comes out tho and you get some reviews.
I would get the 512 mb GT, although it really depends on what res you're running. Also 2 8800GTs would put off some ridiculous heat.

Damn, found out my motherboard can't sli.So would an 8800GT 512 MB> 8800GTS 320 MB? Or is it just not worth the time?
from what i heard, yes but if u have 500 bucks then buy 8800GTX Ultra
see the price between 512mb and 320mb.
from what i heard, yes but if u have 500 bucks then buy 8800GTX Ultra
If I had 500$ I'd rather wait for the 9000 cards, the 8800GTS will hold me off for at least a year.
Dude if you are still under warrenty then do the Step Up program through Nvidia
Dude if you are still under warrenty then do the Step Up program through Nvidia
step up program sucks, i tried it once and got screwed because the cards on the EVGA website are overpriced, compared to when u buy them from frys or CC. I might try to step up my 8800 GTS 320mb for a 8800 GTX if Evga drops the price in the next 2 monts. It is hard to justify spending $500 on a card when i could just buy a PS3, with no driver/ FPSissues.
Can anyone explain the step up program? I am under warranty...
Dude if you are still under warrenty then do the Step Up program through Nvidia
Correction, step up program through Evga(1 of the companies that sell the card) and not other manufactures like xfx, msi, etc. You have 90 days from the date of purchase to turn in your card and pay the difference(New card-old card price) for the step up program.
Give you $50 for it ;)
Yes but early benchmarks have it idleing around 60 degrees celsius.
