I have the demo and im not going to buy the game now. It optimizes my pc for Med settings. At that level the graphics look horrible. Halo3 and Gears of war look way batter than med settings on crysis. The sad thing is if I start moving things to high it gets choppy. And I have a pc that should produce better results. I have a DUo2 6300 with 3 gigs, and a Ati X1950 Pro video card. Yeah it's not the best pc for games but it's pretty good, and alot faster than my 360. But honestly Gow, Halo3, and Bioshock all look better on my 360 than this game on my pc, that's sad. Im not buying a Dx 10 card right now because A they are still over priced, and B DX 10.1 cards are on the way. Also my setup the game should look good, yes I understand I wont get all the bendable foliage and stuff w/out a DX10 card, but still this is shameful. It looks almost exactly like FarCry on my old PC which wasn't a third the pc I have now.Crysis engine is horrid my 360 looks better than my pc running the crysis engine
that card is considered mid-range thats why you get medium, and medium looks great, I have 2 pcs and my 2nd pc runs on medium and it has a 7900GTX (almost 2x as powerful as your card) and it looks good and no other game can really touch it, especially the character models. btw if u want a better experience, overclock your cpu and get a better videocard.Crysis engine is horrid my 360 looks better than my pc running the crysis engine
Quit crying. You have mid level PC and the game auto detects mid level settings big suprise. The only thing that looks like Far Cry in this game is the color and level design, which isn't a bad thing.
You are entirely right... Far cry maxed out looks way way way better than crysis on medium... it's a shame... i'm pretty mad too cause I just finished the demo and I really like the story, but playing an ugly choppy game with my (kind of ) descent computer is really not normal... X2 4200+, 3 gigs of ram, vista, 8800gts 320mb... I may not buy it and it pisses me off... I bought 2 graphics card for this game, Last year when it was suppose to realease i bought the ati x1900xtx, now that nvidia and still not working well, i'm done with crytek...
I feel sorry for some of you peoplei get by on my 7600gt, looks amazing, smooth, on low/medium, not the best but I appreciate how good it CAN look
Next week I believe you will be able to buy a 8800GT for 250USD. But seriously, dont complain about graphics not looking like the game play videos with that card.

WD Raptor HDD
700 watt PSU
XFX 8800 GTX GPU
2 GB Crucial ballistics RAM
ASUS P5N32 E SLI MB
Audigy 2 soundblaster w/optical to reciever
Running on Vista 32-bit
Come out and play!
Far Cry looks better maxed out then Crysis med? No. Seriously. Just take comparision screenshots and you'll see. Compare character models for example
yeah if you wanna think that your 360 looks better than play thatr....ill keep my VERY HIGH settings on my gtx thanks.,....oo and by the way, this game STOMPS anything on any console hands down with the bottom of its foot
crysis looks quite a bit better and does a lot more stuff than far cry on med settings. Also Crysis looks much better than Bioshock and better than UT3. I can't say for certain how well it looks compared to halo 3 or gears. I wonder how crysis would run at 640p just like halo 3?

Crysis on low looks better than Far Cry maxed. You can compare screenshots if you don't believe me.
yeah what a hater...dont come to the pc forums and talk smack because consoles just got their rear ends handed to them for good...this game is subtitled..'' sorry consoles..u are officially obsolete!'' hahaha
ur video card is X1950 pro, thats why, upgrade it to 8800gts or x2900 something.besides Medium setting is not bad at all, i'd say it look better than Halo 3 :)

Its crytek engine... Crysis = GAME Crytek = Engine.... and since i have a 8800 GTS their are new beta drivers that is built just for crysis haha, yeah.... Nvidia does care about me... muha.
I don't know why people have a hard time running this game on high DX9. Take for example my rig.Pentium D Presler Dual Core 2.8Ghz 800FSB, 2 Gigs of kingston cheap-o ram, 533mhz, 8800GTS OC2, Creative X-fi Extreme Gamer. Running Windows XP 64-bitI'm running Crysis on high in maximum resolution, and with the exception of one area, my frame rates have been buttery smooth. Not to mention it blows the Xbox 360 out of the water, then again sometimes I think my Old Pentium 2 rig is better than a 360....
Not to go against what your're saying Weeman, but it's actually Crysis = game, Crytek = developer, and CryEngine2 = Engine
You guys are totally missing the point, I have other FPS games on my pc that look way better with my setup. And yes Halo3 looks much better on my 360 than this game does which means the engine sucks because my pc be it med is still more faster than a 360. How can you say it looks good on med when the cliffs and rocks in the game are nothing buy one huge BLURR. Even at high texture quality the rocks and cliffs still look horrible. Yes it does have a large draw distance but the game on a med system (which is what the majority of people have) looks like utter garbage. Most pc gamers dont buy $350 video cards, my X1950 is a good card, not the best but defenitly a good card.
Halo3 is a crappy game?? $170 million dollars in sales in the first 24 hours,, $330 million in the first week, I would love to see Crysis touch those numbers.
