I'm looking for a classic rpg, and these three are for nine dollars each at my half-price books.Which one should I get?Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, or Divine divinity?
All three you can choose are great mmoprgs...Id buy never winter nights 2 though..If your pc can handle it...Some people hated the story..Im in chapter 2 atm..Ive yet to put the game down..Its a ton of fun..The second addition just came out also...They improved game play an every thing else...Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, or Divine divinity?
What Gladestone1? None of those are mmorpgs.Anyways, if you need an order of purchase recommendation, I'd say Baldur's Gate 2 -> NWN -> Divine.
Hehe sorry meant prgs im tired tonight dont mind me...
Baldur's Gate 2 and NWN1 are both really good rpg games. I know Gamespot gave Divine Divinity a high score and I've played a little of it...but too little to give a good recommendation on that one. I think BG2 and NWN1 are a toss up...at least for me. I'd go with one of those two. Or better yet, just buy NWN and BG2 together. They're only $10 a pop. It's really hard for me to choose between those two. If I had a super-soaker to my head, I guess I'd choose NWN.
Definately BG2, it also has a great expansion.
BG2 is one of the best games of all time. You can't go wrong with it. NWN' engine is a little dull and I am to understand that DD is a Diablo clone although I've never played it.
Out of those three, definitely Baldurs Gate 2 (although they're all good).
Baldur's Gate II. It'll take you about 15-20 mins to get used to the graphics if you're used to recent games, but after that point the game's power just takes over. Enjoy the ride.Played Neverwinter Nights and couldn't continue playing it past the point where you find the 4 Waterdavian creatures a couple of hours from the beginning. The loot was just too dull; every damned chest had a copper necklace and coin pieces. I didn't find any of my gear was advancing at a good enough pace. The game did do a lot of good things like some excellent game mechanics and graphics. For me, again, the loot killed NWN.Never played Divine Divinity.
All 3 are so good. NW took me a couple of hours of play before really getting into it, DD I loved right from the start. I wouldadd Planescape: Torment to this list.1. Planescape2.DD and BG2 I like both games about the same3.NN
definitely BG2, u might want to get BG1 though( U can play it on BG2's engine)
Baldurs Gate 2 hands down.
Planescape: Torment > Baldur's Gate 2 > Neverwinter Nights > Divine Divinity
By far Baldur's Gate 2 and the expansion. BG2 is one of the greatest games of all time, and coupled with BG1 I would say it may be the best PC story driven game of all time.
Baldur's Gate 2 > Divine Divinity > Neverwinter Nights..for singleplayer. In my opinion, NWN is really only worth getting for the multiplayer, though I'm not sure how active the community is anymore. I would guess a good number of NWN's community have moved on to NWN2.
Anyways, if you need an order of purchase recommendation, I'd say Baldur's Gate 2 -> NWN -> Divine.
I agree with this ranking. And NWN2>NWN, but it's not $9 yet. NWN2's expansion that just came out is very good also, those who enjoyed Planescape: Torment and BG2 will probably enjoy it because some of the theme elements are similar. I agree wholeheartedly with those who say BG2 is a must-play classic.
There was a recently released Baldur's Gate collection that contained both BG game + expansions for $20 AUS (probably $10-15 in America). If they sell it in the US, try to find it.Oh, and Planescape: Torment, Fallout and others are awesome (arguably better than BG, NWN and DD), but they're either too expensive or too difficult to find to be easily recommended. There has been a 'Fallout trilogy' pack released recently in Australia, but I don't know if many other countries got it. NWN2 was enjoyable, and I've heard that the expansion pack is brilliant, but you'll probably get a better role-playing experience out of the cheaper BG2.
I'll add my 2 cents here and puta vote in for Badlur's Gate 2 (you should try to pick up the expansion as well). I own all three games you are deciding between, and I gotta say that the other two don't compare to BG2 at all. Of the three, BG2 is a game I replay at least once a year usually. It's just amazing.
My vote would go to Divine Divinity, haven't played its successor though.I didn't like Neverwinter Nights that much, didn't even finish the game.
Baldurs Gate 2
