What is with gamers & graphics this days ? (POLL)

I was just taking a look at gamespots PC forums %26 i just saw topics about the ''UNREAL engine 3 vs Cryengine 2'' ....'' what engine is better ? '' ..... ''what's the best in the UNREAL 3 that Crysis do not have '' '' how will the next VALVe engine perform '' etc .etc. so by their judgment a game like TimeShift , Kane %26 Lynch , Blacksite %26 many others aren't good ...why ''because they don't have graphics DUDE!!! '' ..... some HL fans evan turned theyr back on the franchise because VALVE whants to end the episodic trilgy with the source engine ... will sure use a new engine in theyr new HL game .... so why is it that graphics control a gamers freedom of choise %26 reasson to select the game with better graphics %26 predicteble story %26 stolen gameplay in most cases, than to pich the game that is done in the most innovative way ( from gameplay to story )??? %26 there are some rare cases where a game has it all like Assassins Creed , HALF-LIFE(back in 1998-2004) etc. !What is with gamers %26amp; graphics this days ? I dont care much about graphics as long as the story and gameplay are good, I voted for all the factors though since i couldnt just vote for good story and gameplay.I never get a game just because Im hyped about it, usually need a demo or good reviews.
