First: I play Dawn Of War and his expansions basically because the mp. To play the campaign I usually go in ''normal'' difficult settings. Second: when I play in ''instant action'' agaisnt the I.A. I usually play in ''very hard'' settings, but as wider is the map more difficult is to beat the I.A. You must also consider that in the highest difficult level the I.A. gets requises and energy FASTER than you (i.e.: if you normally gain 6 points, 12 points, 18 points per second based on the degree of build in the requise points She gains 8, 16, 24 or so. Also, the I.A. at max always can see your units and buildings, and attack when you leave your requise points alone. Third: Some mods like DoW I.A. skirmish and DoW Pro improves the efficience of the I.A. a lot, making the game much agressive, hard... and fun.Warhammer 40,000: Winter Assault Difficulty Recommendation
Imperial Guards pwn if you know how to use them and Ondoval I think you mean A.I. not I.A.
Winter Assault was easy, Dark Crusade on hard will make you piss your pants,.
Yeah, Winter Assault is an easyish game compared to Dark crusade. I can't wait for soul storm to come out, looks brilliant.
p.s. Tau rule!!
I'm not 100% sure how the campaign(s) played out, but there were major AI overhauls in WA - I used to be able to win skirmish games on hardest in Dawn of War with relative ease, and when WA came out, I couldn't even win on normal to begin with, I actually almost quit the game because normal was too hard and easy was too easy. But like all AIs, it acts rather than reacts, all you have to do is learn the formulae for each of the armies, and winning just becomes easier and easier, especially as your own build queue becomes more effecient. As to the strength of the IG army, they are a little hit and miss. A full army of Kasrkins (which you can still get in WA) with Commissars and Psykers is damn near unstoppable with a Baneblade and division of Leman Russ tanks backing it up. The IG army is the ultimate meatgrinder, though - super weak, super cheap infantry units who practically live to protect the armoured units. They are certainly not weak, and well balanced for single player for sure, but a decent Ork player can take them apart online with relative ease.Try it on normal, you'll probably do fine in the campaign. But watch out for that skirmish AI.
