I would normally agree though I thought -Final Fantasy?- was good. I think that was the movie I am thinking of.

I think I was like 12 at the time so it was alright. I even liked Super Mario Brothers :PHated Resident Evil though. I know this one didn't pertain to a particular game, but anybody remeber The Wizard? Power Glove ROXXORS!!!!

Well, I really would rather they didn't make movies out of games, since they always do a sucky job. But I guess I can just imagine myself in some freakish universe where games can be made into fantastic movies, just for a moment.Well, there's the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. The No One Lives Forever games would make nice movies. Oh, oh, the Myst franchise has unfathomable potential for great movies. A real Doom movie would be superb. Maybe a Red Faction movie (the original game, not the totally unrelated piece of crap that was RF2)?Well, that's enough fantasizing, back to the normal universe.
Heh, a No One Lives Forever movie would be like a female Austin Powers. I actually like the Resident Evil movies, but I never played the games and I like that chick from The Fifth Element that's in them. The Tomb Raider movies could have been passable if Lara Croft wasn't played by that lady who looks like an alien. I think Rhona Mitra is the new Lara Croft, so the next one could certainly be watchable, even if it's just for her and on mute.Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark were so bad it's like they were trying to be cheesy.
No one mentioned Silent Hill? As far as i'm concerned, Silent Hill is the only game to film that's even half way decent - sure, they ruined some of the imagery that made the series so great and turned the story into something stupider, then explained it in a two minute exposition at the end that made me feel like I must be surrounded by morons if I'm sitting with the target audience, but on the whole I thought it did a good job of conveying the feel of the game, while also being a well put together filmPaul W S Anderson's films are all dire, utterly dire, and Uwe Boll... well, to date I've not seen one of his films, but I think i can say on good authority they suck.The only game to films i'm looking forward to are Metal Gear Solid, Gears of Warand Warcraft - especially Warcraft.... with a large budget, Blizzard holding the green light and Legendary Pictures (300, batman begins) backing it, we could be in for one hell of a ride.Gears could be awesome too - if they get the dialogue and visual style down right, it isn't too overtly ''badass'' and it has a decent budget, it could be a very, very good action science fiction piece.As for MGS - it's already a pretty cinematic game... personally, I hope they just stick to the game pretty much exactly, only make it less preachy (hideo kojima should've just stuck the text WAR IS VERY NAUGHTY AND BAD in a corner and left it there the whole game). It could be great, it could be terrible. It depends on a lot of things, but it's certainly up against the odds.
if warcraft's movie is all cg like the cg in the game it is definitly a must see for everybody

I would like it more like LOTR, with live actors, real back drops, and CGI special effects.If they go the all CGI route, it will fail just like Final Fantasy.

I really can't wait for the MGS film. Since Kojima is working on it, I think it will not be a failure!
Bloodrayne 2 is already out on DVD and it was dumb, its filmed as a western, where the vampires take over a town that there building a train station at.
they said the wow movie was going to use real live actors and actual backdrops, more like a lotr type movie. should be cool
